Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

Hooks and picks are two of the most versatile tools that a mechanic uses. While there’s a seemingly endless number of ways to design them, having more options can help prevent damage to hoses and reduce lost time and expense. Looking to fill a gap in their lineup, more Milwaukee mechanics hooks and picks are on the way.

The main point with this release is an expansion of what’s available rather than an upgrade to an existing design.

The hooks and picks in each set feature an all-metal core for up to 50% more durability. Additionally, chrome plating reduces corrosion and protects against rust.

If you’re looking for a simple pick set, the 4-piece Milwaukee Hose Pick Set may be what you need. These tools include:

Flat hose pick: (45-74-9211) This curved pick has a flat edge with puncture protection to avoid damaging hoses and a reinforced tip to resist bending.

90° hose pick: (45-74-9213) This pick has a slight curve in the middle of the metal pole, and a right angle at the end to reach tight spaces.

45° hose pick: (45-74-9214) The end of this tip is angled for accessibility. It can be used for a variety of mechanical applications.

Hook hose pick: (45-74-9215) A curved and pointed end allows for this hose to be used at an angle for better accessibility.

Each of these individual picks retails for $14.99 and are hitting retailers in April 2022.

The 4-piece Hose Pick Set (48-22-9217) retails for $39.99. Look for it in stores starting April 2022.

If you’re looking for a set that has a little more to offer in terms of versatility, the 8-piece might suit you better. Along with the new tools listed above, this set includes the following additional tools:

Straight pick: This pick has a straight metal tip with a pointed end for precise detail work.

Offset hook: This hook has a slight angle at the end to help you maneuver it in compact areas.

O-ring hook: With a curved, rounded end, this hook can be used to pick up small o-rings and other objects.

Right angle hook: This hook has a right angle at the tip that can be used for prying small parts and other applications.

These four tools are also available as a 4-piece set.

The 8-piece Hook and Pick Set (48-22-9218) retails for $49.99. Look for it in stores starting April 2022.
